Our story...
In 1988 Ron and Phyllis Gann
created
The Wedding Ring Store, a family-owned and operated company with the
vision to design and produce artistic jewelry to the
bridal market and to market fine
quality art in Pensacola,
Florida...
The beauty of
the finest white sand beaches,
the moderately
mild winters, the lure of the area's flourishing land and sea life and
the five flags old world flavor of a seaside village inspired Ron and
Phyllis to
relocate from the hustle and bustle of the "big city" life in Atlanta,
Georgia.
In 1988,
Pensacola was an easy going fishing village with seafood restaurants
serving "the daily catch" as well as
the "cradle of aviation" with
the special attraction of the Blue Angels at Pensacola US Naval Base.
A customary practice of the Naval Academy Cadets was to offer
engagements or consumate the engagement with a wedding after graduation
and receipt of their wings and commissions. Ron and Phyllis
became an active part of many graduating cadets needs for jewelry and
art renderings as they prepared for engagement and bridal wedding ring
selectons.
The city was characterized by a quaint historic downtown district
with boulevards of blooming
majestic
crepe myrtles giving reminiscence
of architectural old New Orleans...with its houses and businesses
adorning two story decorative balconies of "ginger bread." Along
with its elegance, this peaceful old town (recorded as the first
landing and explorer outpost and also as the second
oldest settlement in the US) favored art museums while numerous
antique and art galleries added their grace with unique style and
charm. For
these reasons, Pensacola was chosen as the dream location for our
artistic jewelry
and art business vision!
The past 20
years have brought a lot of changes to Pensacola. Today, The
Wedding Ring Store also has changed. New markets have integrated
with the charm of the old! Dove-tailed into this expansive
attraction of the area we continue to offer our talents and skills in
creating
fine art paintings and art specialty products…
our vision to bring quality products and services to
those who cherish the benefits of a heritage of beauty, value and
charm.
The eloquent environment necessitates an expression of this historical
place! The subjects, the scenery, the people and events
