I felt as though I
needed some stability after the madness
of the
Millennium Y2K and doom predictions.
All the troubled fears and apprehensions that were felt
during that period caused so much stress for so many people.
This
painting was a statement to let folks know
where I stood on the issues.
I did not feel the fears and apprehensions.
I for one did not buy any
dried food for my pantry! |

Cascades”

Amid
the glorious splendor of God's display of wonder
and awe is the majestic
mountains
with an ever changing
palette of colors reflected
upon their
face.
The mountain crests and the richness of verdant
evergreen trees
speak to me of God's ever living presence.
They grow through the seasons
of snow and rain.
We, too, grow to deeply love and know Him among
the
changing shadows of clouds that pass through our lives.
This is my High Cascades...

This evolved
from deep inside my being with the desire
for everything to
be neat and orderly.
My eye was set for beauty and the heart of the matter...
inviting, desirable and rather like a "Paradise." |

A longing to
express the
gratitude that one finally feels
when you can escape and go an
entire day
without
a single interaction or problem to solve. |

Living in
the
southeastern United States can cause one
to thrill at the
sight of such magnificent sceneries.
It is truly awe inspiring and
thrilling...
but not as comfortable as having both my feet
planted on
level
ground, moderate temperatures
and no snow under foot. |

I felt a
need to
emerge myself in blues...
walls, flowers, music,
clothes, sapphires, etc...
I simply couldn't get enough blue. |

Everything grows without a care!

My
very special Dentist had something of
this nature behind
the his office building.
All patients could
view through a picture window
while he was working
on them!
I found my pain was
diminished by gazing
at the beauty and
activity around his lily pond.
It gave me
inspiration to create something
that hopefully would
bring a peaceful experience
to those who would
gaze upon my painting.
